Stock Controller

About the Role

TJ O'Mahony, part of Home Project Centre Sales Ltd. and a leading builder's provider and home improvement store in Ireland, is seeking a full-time permanent Stock Controller for their Cahir location in County Tipperary.

Key Responsibilities

• Create purchase orders to maintain branch stock levels according to targets.
• Manage supplier invoice issues related to purchase orders.
• Communicate with suppliers about excess or dormant stock.
• Handle stock returns to suppliers following company policy, ensuring credit is obtained.
• Ensure all goods inward processes comply with group policy and accurately record received stock in the system.
• Report any delivery shortages or damages to suppliers and manage returns and credits.
• Address daily negative stock issues and conduct scheduled cyclical stock counts.
• Investigate discrepancies from stock counts and report to management.
• Analyze weekly stock adjustments and communicate variances to stock management.
• Maintain and monitor special orders.
• Manage monthly inter-branch stock transfer cut-offs by month-end.
• Store stock safely to comply with health and safety standards and minimize damage.
• Work to reduce excess and dormant stock levels in the branch.
• Review monthly stock reports and collaborate with branch personnel to resolve issues.
• Monitor and manage branch stock accruals.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong attention to detail.
• Previous experience in a similar stock control role.
• Ability to work independently with initiative.
• Team-oriented attitude.
• Familiarity with building materials is an advantage.
