About the Role
Under the supervision of the Customer Service Manager, this position requires overseeing daily warehouse tasks including receiving, storing, issuing goods, and managing inventory. This role also involves operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as hand pallet jacks and forklifts, with forklift operation reserved for certified personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport goods within the warehouse using hand pallet jacks or forklifts (certified operators only) following instructions.
- Ensure accurate sorting of items received before placing them into designated bins as per Warehouse Management System (WMS) guidance.
- Remove, stack, and organize empty pallets both inside and outside the warehouse.
- Complete and sign pick slip orders as required.
- Implement best practices during stock picking and staging for dispatch.
- Adhere strictly to instructions from Customer Service Officers and management in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Maintain accurate documentation during warehouse operations.
- Deliver tasks with precision and demonstrate competence.
- Show initiative and contribute suggestions to improve warehouse operations.
- Exhibit teamwork, flexibility, and adaptability under pressure.
- Maintain thorough understanding of ongoing warehouse activities.
- Perform general housekeeping after each inbound/outbound process and labeling/coding operations.
- Foster effective communication within the team.
- Undertake additional duties assigned by the Customer Service Manager to ensure smooth operations.
Stock Reporting
- Assist in executing regular full and cycle physical stock counts and collaborate with the Inventory team to resolve discrepancies.
- Report any anomalies to the Customer Service Manager within 24 hours.
- Provide accurate inventory records upon request.
Good Warehousing Practices (GWP)
- Carry out all warehouse processes following client SOPs and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Maintain proper warehouse and stock safety conditions including temperature control and handling procedures.
Asset Management and Safety
- Support warehouse safety, security, and cleanliness protocols.
- Protect company assets by preventing careless handling and fraudulent activities.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
- Promote safety culture in alignment with MDS HSEQ policy and guidelines.
- Participate in Total Quality System (TQS) and HSE meetings and implement agreed actions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum educational qualification: SSCE or O’ Level.
- At least 1 to 2 years of practical experience in warehouse operations.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Knowledge of receiving and dispatch workflows.
- Experience in batch management.
- Customer service skills.
- Certified forklift operators only for forklift handling and technical tasks.
