Supply Chain Planner

Overview

Famous Supply is looking for a Supply Chain Planner to oversee supplier relationships, inventory management, and supply planning that align with service and inventory objectives. The role ensures the availability of the right products at the appropriate times and locations to satisfy customer demands by managing purchasing and inventory strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement inventory replenishment strategies aimed at achieving service levels and inventory investment targets.
• Analyze demand trends, seasonality, market conditions, and customer behavior to enhance product availability.
• Address forecast discrepancies and fine-tune planning parameters accordingly.
• Manage safety stock levels, lead time variability, ordering cycles, and inventory policies.
• Assess inventory condition regularly and initiate measures to minimize excess, obsolete, and slow-moving stock.
• Collaborate closely with operations, sales, and distribution teams to synchronize inventory strategies with organizational goals.
• Utilize supply chain planning and forecasting tools to support inventory optimization efforts.
• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders promptly to fulfill customer needs.
• Monitor supplier performance and promote enhancements in delivery speed, lead times, fill rates, and responsiveness.
• Expedite purchase order deliveries while maintaining accurate tracking data.
• Maintain purchasing master data including pricing, lead times, order quantities, sourcing info, and product details.
• Participate in supplier onboarding, product transitions, and phase-out activities.
• Track key performance indicators such as service levels, inventory turns, backorders, forecast accuracy, on-time supplier delivery, and inventory investment.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in planning processes, inventory efficiency, and supplier management.
• Leverage planning systems for data-driven decision making and generate reports supporting inventory and procurement strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, operations, or related field is preferred.
• At least three years of experience in purchasing, inventory planning, supply planning, or procurement.
• Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude.
• Proficient with advanced Excel functions for data analysis and reporting.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in HVAC or plumbing distribution sectors is a plus.
• Familiarity with Epicor Eclipse ERP, GAINS supply chain planning platform, inventory forecasting and optimization techniques.
• Understanding of supply planning, demand forecasting, inventory management principles, and supplier performance evaluation metrics.
• Knowledge of international freight and import compliance is beneficial.
