Accountant

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our finance team, responsible for managing comprehensive accounting functions related to sales, vendor transactions, cash flow, and regulatory compliance across multiple channels including online, POS, and retail.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile daily sales data from various channels such as online platforms, POS systems, and retail outlets.
• Ensure precise documentation of all customer receipts including cash, card payments, bank transfers, and online payment gateways.
• Liaise with Customer Service to manage refunds and necessary billing adjustments.
• Perform regular reconciliations of POS transactions and subscription billing accounts.
• Properly document vendor invoices with correct account coding, obtain approvals, and match them against purchase orders and goods received notes.
• Reconcile vendor statements and prepare batches of payments accordingly.
• Keep vendor ledger accounts current and resolve any differences promptly.
• Administer petty cash funds including replenishment activities along with maintaining required approvals and documentation.
• Conduct periodic bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts and payment gateways.
• Reconcile VAT related ledgers and assist the finance team in preparing quarterly VAT returns.
• Assist in posting journal entries, running accruals, and supporting the month-end closing process.
• Help prepare management reports, including variance analyses, providing insights into financial performance.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and standard operating procedures within the accounting processes.
• Provide relevant financial data and documentation in support of both internal and external audit processes.
• Work collaboratively with Operations, Commercial, and Production departments to accurately account for business transactions.
• Identify and recommend enhancements to improve accounting procedures, automation, and documentation standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrate a minimum of four years of accounting experience, preferably within FMCG, retail, or manufacturing sectors in the UAE or the broader GCC region.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and bank/vendor reconciliations.
• Experience with ERP accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, Oracle, SAP, or Zoho.
• Familiarity with UAE VAT legislation and compliance requirements.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a strong sense of accountability and organizational skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, capable of handling extensive transactional datasets efficiently.
