Role Summary
This position is accountable for executing maintenance operations on boiler pressure parts, ensuring operational reliability and alignment with scheduled maintenance plans. The role requires coordination during outages, maintenance documentation, safety training provision, and equipment history management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical oversight of boiler pressure components ensuring availability and reliability.
- Execute predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance adhering to timelines.
- Coordinate resources and operations during maintenance outages to minimize downtime.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within boiler operational zones.
- Support emergency responses alongside team leads and section heads.
- Engage in structured training sessions and audits pertinent to boiler maintenance.
- Conduct safety training for contractors and maintain records within KRONOS.
- Develop and update standard maintenance procedures (SMPs) and maintain equipment documentation integrity.
- Prepare analytical reports including root cause analysis, failure mode effects analysis, and audit reports based on inputs from leadership.
- Handle procurement requests and budget inputs related to maintenance operations.
- Manage inventory including spares, insulation, and refractory materials aligned to annual requirements.
- Assist in verifying attendance and resource usage for manpower and materials optimization.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols compliant with CHETNA, IMS, AWMS, DISHA guidelines, and GENSUITE standards.
- Champion digitization and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- B.Tech or BE degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in boiler maintenance within a power plant or industrial environment.
- Preferably experienced in thermal power generation industry with exposure to mechanical systems and boiler upkeep.
Additional Information
The role requires collaborative interaction with internal stakeholders like Operations & Maintenance, Stores, and support teams, as well as external contractor engagements. Safety compliance and continuous improvement are emphasized as core elements of the job.
