Role Overview
Norwin Technologies seeks a Backend Software Engineer II with deep knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS, and backend system architecture to join the Bengaluru engineering team. The candidate will collaborate closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, fellow software engineers, and data engineers to develop scalable backend platforms and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and sustain scalable backend applications utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
- Create and maintain APIs, tools, and platform capabilities designed to handle and process large volumes of data events in a centralized manner.
- Engage in discussions concerning system design and architecture to devise robust solutions.
- Develop cloud-native solutions leveraging various AWS services.
- Enhance development workflows by improving automation, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in production troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and support activities.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 6 years of practical experience in software engineering.
- Expertise in Java programming, including Java 8, 11, and newer versions.
- Proficient with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and building RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience developing Microservices-based applications.
- Knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudWatch, and API Gateway.
- Experience working with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving capabilities.
System Design Expertise
- Ability to architect scalable backend services and APIs.
- Active participation in system and architecture design conversations.
- Understanding of database schema design, system integrations, and performance tuning.
- Skill to assess technical trade-offs and provide pragmatic recommendations.
