Business Development Analyst

About the Role

This position is based in Berlin and requires an office-first presence, designed as an internship lasting between 6 and 12 months. The Retail Click & Mortar team is pivotal to SumUp's European growth strategy and focuses on major retailer partnerships to enhance sales performance through data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine weekly and monthly stock and sales data to convert raw data into actionable insights for business development initiatives.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of a new retailer expansion program launching in mid-2026 by maintaining the pipeline and monitoring progress across various markets.
• Conduct both systematic and spontaneous assessments of commercial KPIs to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities among retailers and regions.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of data across reporting tools, identifying potential risks or deviations proactively.
• Create reports and presentations that make complex data understandable for internal stakeholders to support decision-making.

Candidate Profile

• Pursuing or recently completed a postgraduate degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or related disciplines.
• High analytical capability and adeptness with managing multiple data sources with precision.
• Proficient in spreadsheet software (Excel or Google Sheets) and presentation tools (PowerPoint or Google Slides).
• Intermediate skills in AI tools for research and analysis, with advanced expertise considered an advantage.
• Strong communication skills in English, capable of conveying data insights effectively to diverse audiences.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
• Exhibit strong numeracy and commercial sense combined with a business-driven outlook.
