Communications Specialist

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning and delivery of employee communications across Germany and Austria, covering broad company-wide topics and specific MCAPS initiatives, including leader messages, all-hands meetings, town halls, SharePoint updates, organizational emails, and kickoff events.
• Produce high-caliber communication deliverables and executive materials, such as briefing notes, speaking points, presentations, video scripts, and stories that comply with corporate policies and reflect business priorities.
• Manage integrated communication planning and maintain an editorial rhythm to ensure coherent messaging, tone, and narratives across multiple channels, coordinating to prevent content overlap or conflicting information.
• Collaborate closely with leadership and cross-functional partners to devise employee communication approaches, adjusting messaging promptly in response to feedback, engagement metrics, and organizational developments.
• Leverage data insights and storytelling techniques to educate and engage staff effectively, bolster leadership communication and executive social media presence, and enhance internal perceptions of Microsoft.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related areas plus some experience in Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program or Project Management, or similar roles, or equivalent professional experience.
• Fluency in both German and English at a professional level.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree plus multiple years of experience in communications-related functions.
• Specialized experience in sectors such as retail or technology.
• Experience supporting executives in executive communication roles.
• Familiarity with social media platforms.

Additional Information

Microsoft Germany advocates a flexible work policy recommending on-site or customer site presence for at least two days per week. This opportunity is a temporary position expected to conclude on June 30, 2027.

The typical annual salary range for this role in Germany is €64,800 to €108,000, with possible eligibility for additional benefits or rewards.
