About This Role
SPIE Services Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of SPIE Global Services Energy, offers multi-technical and engineering solutions across the energy sector worldwide. They operate in regions including Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and the Americas, delivering services from design stages through commissioning to operation and maintenance.
Role Summary
The cost controller will play a crucial role in managing project financials by overseeing budgets, monitoring CAPEX, reconciling invoices, and managing SAP financial tools (UNISUP & U-Cost). They will assess financial risks associated with projects and maintain proper reporting within the Nigerian branch.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support project management systems including cost control templates, CAPEX tracking processes, and invoice/payment workflows aligned with corporate policies.
- Consolidate budget reports, implement cost control policies, manage SAP financial tools, and produce monthly cost and financial trend analyses for stakeholders.
- Verify invoices ensuring compliance with contractual terms, Sarbanes-Oxley standards, and internal approval protocols.
- Identify potential portfolio risks such as cost overruns, support contract variations, collaborate with finance teams on payments and cash flow, and integrate accounting data.
- Engage in health, safety, and environmental compliance activities including committee participation, permit-to-work controls, and ISO certification support.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- At least 15 years of professional experience within the oil and gas sector, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role related to cost and budget management.
- Expertise using SAP HR and Finance modules, specifically UNISUP and U-Cost.
- Strong skills in contract variation evaluation, financial trend analysis, and adherence to SOX compliance standards.
- Excellent command of English suitable for corporate communication and holding a valid Medical Certificate authorization.
