Overview

The Golden State Warriors are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join their expanding team. This remote, full-time role plays a vital part in managing data pipelines and data warehouse infrastructure, collaborating closely with data scientists and analysts. The position demands a proactive and responsive attitude, especially during the NBA season when data operations are critical to daily functions.

Key Responsibilities

Create and maintain both batch and streaming/event-driven data pipelines
Design and execute data modeling and transformation to support analytics and reporting needs
Deploy machine learning predictive models into live production environments
Implement rigorous data validation and quality assurance checks throughout pipeline stages
Ensure smooth operation of data pipelines during the basketball season
Perform additional duties as required

Experience and Skills Required

Over four years of experience in data engineering or a related field
At least three years of experience managing data operations, including on-call responsibilities
Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL programming
Expertise in developing scalable ETL/ELT workflows
Hands-on experience with orchestration frameworks such as Airflow or Dagster
Familiarity with transformation tools like dbt
Experience working with cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Proficiency in using Git for version control
Strong communication skills capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively
Capability to cultivate positive relationships across various departments and levels
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects within a fast-moving environment
Deep interest and enthusiasm for sports and entertainment sectors
Experience deploying and monitoring predictive models is advantageous
Knowledge of distributed computing and streaming frameworks is a plus
