Role overview
Warren CAT is looking for a Data Scientist to turn data into actionable insight that supports strategic business decisions. In this role, you will analyze complex information, uncover patterns and opportunities, and serve as a reliable advisor on data visualization and interpretation for stakeholders and end users. The work is moderately complex, carried out with general supervision, and calls for sound independent judgment.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to spot opportunities where data can solve business problems.
- Perform detailed analysis to surface trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities that help guide decisions and create business value.
- Translate findings into clear visuals and recommendations that stakeholders can easily understand and act on.
- Locate relevant data sources, gather both structured and unstructured data, and assemble large datasets for analysis.
- Convert raw information into aggregated tables for front-end consumption.
- Test data for errors, strengthen models, and ensure data is accurate, consistent, and clean.
- Build familiarity with data, information, and application architecture to support informed decision-making.
- Use knowledge of business priorities, marketing objectives, customer groups, decision factors, and hypotheses to define meaningful performance measures.
- Help improve and scale data models, analytical methods, system processes, and data management workflows.
- Advise on ways to automate data collection, improve data quality, and streamline data storage.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related business-focused field from a four-year college or university; alternatively, four additional years of relevant data, analytics, or technical experience may replace the degree requirement along with the required work experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in a data, analytics, technical, or business-related role; candidates with an advanced STEM degree may qualify with up to 2 years of experience in data, analytics, technical, or business-relevant work.
- Working knowledge at entry to intermediate level of BI platforms, data management tools, or SQL-based technologies such as Tableau, NoSQL, TSQL, R, Python, or similar tools.
- Experience handling internal metrics, data, and business intelligence strategy.
- Comfort using analytical tools and instruments.
- Ability to recognize patterns in data.
- Entry to intermediate critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Strong presentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Entry to intermediate business acumen.
