Delivery Driver Assistant

Job Overview

The Delivery Driver Assistant position involves close interaction with both wholesale and retail customers to assess their needs, respond to inquiries about Sherwin-Williams products, and suggest appropriate solutions. The role requires delivering products safely and punctually using company vehicles such as vans or pick-up trucks. A valid driver's license authorizing operation of manual transmission trucks weighing between 5000kg and 8000kg is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products to customers promptly and safely using company vans or pick-up trucks.
• Maintain excellent customer satisfaction by providing outstanding sales service.
• Assist customers in-person and via phone, identifying their needs and recommending fitting products and services.
• Process sales transactions accurately according to company policies and procedures.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets.
• Keep accurate files of work orders and product formulas.
• Retrieve required products from warehouse or sales floor.
• Prepare tints and mix products as per customer specifications.
• Load, transport, and deliver goods securely and in a timely manner.
• Help with loading and unloading vehicle cargo.
• Maintain company vehicles and notify supervisors about any maintenance or repairs needed.
• Follow assigned delivery routes and scheduled timings.
• Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and safety protocols while driving.
• Prepare necessary reports and documents related to deliveries.
• Operate equipment such as cars, trucks, and forklifts safely and effectively.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Legal authorization to work in the country without need for visa sponsorship currently or in future.
• Possess a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License (Open General Class) capable of operating manual trucks weighing 5000-8000kg.
• Capable, with or without reasonable accommodation, of lifting up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally from shelves or floor stacks.
• Availability to work all scheduled hours including evenings and weekends.
• Minimum education: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent academic certification in Math and English (such as CXC CSEC).
• For internal applicants: must have at least a "meets expectations" rating in the most recent performance review and completed required HR Cloud eLearning courses.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• At least one year experience in delivery, retail, or customer service roles.
• Previous experience selling paint and related products is advantageous.
• Ability to communicate effectively in more than one language, including Spanish.
