About the Role
The Ministry of Justice in New Zealand is offering two fixed-term Delivery Lead positions (2 and 3 years) based in Wellington CBD. These roles are part of the ambitious Te Au Reka programme aiming to revolutionize justice access by replacing manual, paper-based court and tribunal processes with a digital case management system, enhancing user experience across the country.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead one or more cross-functional agile squads throughout iterative build and delivery cycles. This role involves close collaboration with vendor partners, business analysts, product teams, technical experts, and programme leaders to create an environment that fosters successful delivery.
- Guide and support agile squads to remain focused and empowered in delivering high-quality results.
- Oversee delivery progress and provide assurance throughout project phases.
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and resolve delivery barriers promptly.
- Facilitate effective planning sessions and delivery activities.
- Support integrated release coordination and readiness activities.
- Encourage continuous improvement and application of agile best practices.
- Develop strong relationships across business and technology teams.
- Provide transparent reporting and insights to governance and decision-making bodies.
Required Skills and Experience
Ideal candidates will demonstrate a confident ability to navigate and inspire within complex delivery landscapes, including:
- At least 10 years experience in delivery, project, programme, or agile leadership roles.
- Experience leading or coaching cross-functional agile teams in complex ICT or digital transformation settings.
- Deep understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and frameworks.
- Relevant agile certification such as Scrum Master, SAFe, PMI-ACP, or equivalent.
- Proven skills in identifying and managing risks, dependencies, and removing impediments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capabilities.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in large-scale transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of public sector governance, accountability, and decision-making frameworks is advantageous.

Salary
The annual remuneration for this role ranges from $105,226 to $144,034 depending on skills and experience.
