- Ensure all project components comply with relevant technical standards, rules, and regulations by integrating them into project workflows.
- Collaborate closely with both development and execution teams as a cohesive unit within integrated project functions.
- Coordinate and oversee projects from initial concept through to successful completion, meticulously managing budgets and timelines related to engineering design and solution delivery.
- Craft conceptual designs that underpin effective power system studies by defining technical requirements for Solar Farms, Wind Farms, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and manufacturing precinct projects.
- Establish and nurture partnerships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), consultants, and contractors to achieve optimum techno-commercial outcomes.
- Create and review standard technical scopes of work and project schedules.
- Conduct on-site evaluations considering factors such as land, connectivity, logistics, environmental impact, local infrastructure, and additional pertinent aspects.
- Coordinate between technical consultants, OEMs, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) teams, Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), and state Network Service Providers (NSPs) to fulfill all stakeholder requirements.
- Contribute expert technical advice and assist in optimizing conceptual designs and technology choices developed by internal teams or external consultants.
- Support contract management relating to engineering and technical elements of large delivery projects.
- Assist in managing external engineering resources and grid connection activities to align project schedules with delivery forecasts.
- Oversee Transmission Network Service Provider (TNSP) and Distribution Network Service Provider (DNSP) registrations and connection application processes.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to comprehend and implement project objectives and needs effectively.
- Guide and support project teams in applying engineering and design standards, tracking progress and managing project portfolios.
- Engage with Development Managers to ensure adherence to engineering design protocols and solid process application at every project phase.
- Provide on-the-ground support relating to environmental approvals and land access requirements.
- Build strong internal relationships to adapt and deploy Company policies that enhance Australian project outcomes.
- Uphold Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards by complying with company policies, participating in training, following safety instructions, and promptly reporting incidents or hazards.
- Conduct oneself in line with the Company's values and expected behavioural standards at all times.
Experience and Qualifications
- Essential: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in large-scale infrastructure project engineering, renewable energy, mining, or processing plant development.
- Preferred: Experience in energy and infrastructure engineering requirements and design, including knowledge of transmission connection processes.
Educational Background
- Degree in engineering, preferably electrical engineering.
- Current driver's license is mandatory.
- Project Management qualifications (formal) and Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) accreditations are advantageous.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Solid understanding of power system fundamentals and familiarity with Australian standards, AEMO and TNSP processes within renewable energy or storage contexts.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving aptitude.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Experience using AutoCAD or similar engineering design software.
Personal Traits
- Ability to foster effective, collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
