Role Overview
We are supporting a partner organization looking to hire a DevOps Engineer based in Australia. This role involves joining a dynamic engineering team responsible for designing, maintaining, and scaling infrastructure that supports significant digital platforms. Ideal candidates are skilled in DevOps automation, deployment process enhancement, and system reliability improvement across both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and advocate modern DevOps methodologies to foster stronger collaboration across development, QA, and operations teams.
- Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters deployed on cloud and on-prem environments to guarantee both scalability and robustness.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for dependable and efficient software releases.
- Automate infrastructure setup and configuration using Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code frameworks.
- Improve platform monitoring by deploying solutions for logging, alerting, and performance tuning.
- Administer Linux systems ensuring security and operational excellence.
- Work with engineering teams to troubleshoot live system issues and improve deployment workflows.
- Drive continuous improvements in cloud infrastructure, automation strategies, and overall platform performance.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 4 years in a DevOps or similar infrastructure automation capacity.
- At least 2 years working with Configuration as Code, with Ansible being preferred.
- Demonstrated experience deploying Infrastructure as Code in cloud platforms, particularly AWS with Terraform.
- Expertise in designing, managing, and working with Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and the ELK Stack.
- Advanced skills in Linux system administration and networking, including routing, VPNs, DNS, load balancers, and firewall setups.
- Proficient in scripting/programming languages like Go, Python, or Groovy.
- Experience with Kubernetes administration and knowledge of on-premise Kubernetes solutions such as Rancher is advantageous.
- Experience with VMware vSphere is a plus.
- Strong analytical thinking, communication, and effective collaboration within Agile teams.
