Director Supply Chain Operations

About the Role

The Director of Supply Chain Operations will spearhead the end-to-end management and strategic optimization of the company’s supply chain components, including planning, procurement coordination, inventory control, logistics, distribution, and fulfillment activities. This leadership position requires designing scalable strategies, enhancing operational productivity, and fostering sustainable expansion through effective cross-functional collaboration and strong team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement comprehensive strategies that align supply chain operations with the organization's long-term business objectives.
• Oversee all aspects of supply chain operations including demand and supply planning, inventory oversight, logistics management, distribution, and transportation coordination.
• Develop standardized operational processes, governance frameworks, and performance metrics to improve consistency, scalability, and efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with departments such as Procurement, Sales, Finance, Product Management, Technology, and Executive Teams to ensure supply chain activities support overall business goals.
• Optimize inventory levels, manage planning capacities, and allocate resources to boost business performance.
• Track key operational indicators, service standards, inventory health, and emerging business trends to identify improvement opportunities.
• Establish and nurture strong partnerships with suppliers, logistics providers, distribution channels, and internal teams.
• Lead initiatives aimed at workflow enhancement, process standardization, automation, and increased supply chain visibility.
• Create executive-level dashboards, operational analyses, forecasts, and reporting for data-driven decision-making.
• Mentor and develop supply chain managers and operational personnel, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Manage budgets, workforce planning, operational priorities, and long-term capability development for the department.
• Support the deployment and refinement of ERP, warehouse management, transportation management systems, and analytics tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a similar area.
• Minimum of 10 years progressive leadership experience in supply chain operations, logistics, manufacturing operations, distribution, or procurement roles.
• Proven track record leading complex supply chain functions and driving operational improvements in enterprise settings.
• Expertise in demand forecasting, inventory optimization, logistics coordination, fulfillment, transportation planning, and overall operational strategy.
• Strong experience managing cross-functional projects and enterprise-wide operational improvement programs.
• Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Advanced analytical, financial acumen, problem-solving skills, and data-driven decision-making approach.
• Experience in managing budgets, forecasting, performance tracking, and workforce coordination.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, warehouse and transportation management systems, supply chain planning software, analytics, and business intelligence platforms.
• Ability to juggle multiple strategic projects while ensuring excellence in daily operations within fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related discipline is a plus.
• Certifications such as APICS CSCP, CPIM, CLTD, CPSM, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent are highly valued.
• Experience in supply chain leadership within manufacturing, retail, consumer goods, healthcare, technology, or large-scale distribution businesses.
• Knowledge of supply chain optimization techniques, continuous improvement methodologies, digital supply chain technologies, and operational analytics.
• Proven ability to manage remote or geographically dispersed operational teams effectively.
