Job Overview
In alignment with Greystar’s Pillars of Excellence and Core Values, this role involves providing exceptional employee relations and HR support to leaders and staff, resolving matters in an assigned portfolio remotely. Reporting to the Regional ER Director, the Manager applies policies, employment laws, conducts investigations, and coaches leaders to ensure fair and compliant outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Be the main ER contact for a portfolio of properties, advising on employee relation issues like performance, conduct, attendance, and conflict.
- Conduct thorough and impartial workplace investigations and recommend suitable resolutions complying with company policies and law.
- Interpret and apply the Employee Handbook, HR policies, and employment law to support managers and employees; escalate complex issues when needed.
- Coach leaders on managing performance, corrective actions, and documentation best practices.
- Review and guide managers on ER communications such as disciplinary notices and improvement plans.
- Stay informed on employment law across multiple states to maintain compliant HR practices.
- Assist in preparing EEOC statements and related documentation, collaborating with legal counsel when needed.
- Manage ER intake queue, triaging requests and directing outside matters to appropriate personnel.
- Work with various internal teams to deliver integrated solutions and share best practices.
- Identify trends in employee relations and suggest improvements to processes or policies.
- Complete reports, maintain accurate confidential records, and comply with organizational standards.

- Monitor and ensure adherence to policies, regulations, and operational standards; report violations appropriately.
- Practice safety protocols and promptly report incidents or malfunctions.
- Propose efficiency and productivity enhancements.
- Keep updated on industry techniques and standards through training and professional resources.
Working Conditions
- This is a remote role with occasional travel for meetings, training, or site visits.
Qualifications & Skills
- 4 to 5 years of progressive HR Generalist or Employee Relations experience, including workplace investigations; minimum 2 years supporting multi-location/multi-state operations.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws such as EEO, FMLA, ADA, and ability to apply law practically.
- Proven ability to conduct investigations and recommend corrective actions sensibly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear and professional ER documentation.
- Ability to establish trust, providing empathetic yet legally compliant guidance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and HRIS platforms; experience with ER tracking systems is a plus.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, with ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
- Sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration, or equivalent experience; HR certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) preferred.
- Fluent in English; bilingual skills are advantageous.
Compensation & Benefits
The position offers an annual salary range of $105,000 to $112,000 USD. Candidates preferably should be based in or able to work CST hours.
