Overview
This role focuses on the precise collection and timely deposit of sales proceeds from various sources including QAS EBT, Porter Services, Oryx Lounge, and other cash handling activities related to QDF Sales. The successful candidate will process all cash and credit transactions daily, ensure deposits reach the Accounts department promptly, and maintain accurate account records through monitoring and reconciliation. Communication with both internal and external stakeholders is vital, alongside providing excellent customer service and fostering team cohesion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage cash handling duties carefully; liability for any cash shortages will be deducted from salary.
- Process daily transactions and payments, reconcile cash collected each day.
- Deposit funds punctually at designated locations or banks as directed by Finance, preparing and submitting a deposit summary with appropriate confirmation and reconciliation.
- Collect and verify cash and card sales from customers, tallying physical collections against sales records.
- Administer petty cash disbursements in line with finance policies for authorized requests.
- Input data and maintain journal entries within the ERP system.
- Perform bank account reconciliations and maintain relevant records.
- Organize and file documentation such as deposit slips, cash receipts, bank mandates, and related service paperwork.
- Interact professionally with passengers, airport and airline personnel, duty managers, and bank representatives.
- Ensure all credit facilities are approved in writing by the Finance authority per credit policies.
- Prepare daily and monthly closing financial reports timely.
- Prepare and issue cash floats as needed for staff collections.
- Report daily cash surpluses and shortages.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Head of Department.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum qualification: High school diploma with at least 1 year of relevant work experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with no prior job experience.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English.
- Strong attention to meeting deadlines.
- Eagerness to learn aspects of treasury operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Genuine interest in treasury and banking activities.
- Basic understanding of financial and capital markets.
