Food Services Supervisor

Job Overview

The Food Services Supervisor is responsible for fostering teamwork among staff to deliver excellent guest service, ensuring all guest requirements are met efficiently. This role involves inspecting staff grooming and attire for compliance and addressing any shortcomings promptly.

Operational Duties

• Perform opening and closing tasks such as preparing supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and securing premises.
• Organize and maintain storage areas ensuring cleanliness and adherence to FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory procedures.
• Conduct scheduled inventory counts and manage stock requisitions.
• Supervise dining room operations to monitor seating availability, service quality, guest safety, and overall guest welfare.
• Manage maintenance requests through completion of work orders.

Employee Management

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and staff counseling.
• Motivate, coach, and discipline employees as needed while exemplifying company policies and values.
• Act as a primary contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy, providing a supportive work environment.

Safety and Compliance

• Adhere strictly to company, safety, and security policies.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions promptly to management.
• Complete required safety training and obtain certifications as necessary.
• Maintain professionalism through clean, appropriate uniforms and confidentiality of company information.

Guest Relations

• Greet and engage guests following company standards, anticipate their needs, and assist those with disabilities.
• Convey appreciation to guests sincerely and communicate clearly and professionally at all times.

Teamwork and Communication

• Build and nurture positive working relationships among team members, supporting collective objectives.
• Respond thoughtfully to employee concerns and foster an inclusive and respectful workplace.

Quality and Efficiency Improvement

• Ensure compliance with established quality standards.
• Identify and propose innovative measures to boost operational efficiency, productivity, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

Physical and Miscellaneous Requirements

• Capable of performing visual inspections and reading fine print across various formats.
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently.
• Demonstrate dexterity to manipulate tools and equipment requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Navigate confined spaces, stairs, and ramps, including performing bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping motions.
• Fulfill other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of two years relevant experience in the field.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.
• No specific licenses or certifications are required.
