Role Overview

The Founding Product Designer will be instrumental in shaping GoRider's primary transportation technology products. This is a full-time hybrid role located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, offering flexibility with some remote working days. The position involves close cooperation with product and engineering teams to produce user-focused designs, managing the entire product design lifecycle from discovery through execution, and establishing design systems and visual standards.

Key Duties

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop intuitive, cohesive user interfaces.
• Lead the product design process from initial research and ideation to final implementation.
• Create and maintain design systems and consistent visual guidelines.
• Conduct user research activities including interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather insights and validate design choices.
• Produce wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs.
• Iterate on designs based on feedback and performance data.
• Contribute to establishing a strong design culture and the adoption of best practices within the company.
• Participate actively in product strategy and roadmap formulation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven expertise in visual and product design with a focus on creating smooth and understandable interfaces.
• Deep knowledge of design thinking principles and user experience research methodologies.
• Skilled in conducting diverse user research techniques to inform decisions.
• Proficient in contemporary design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD, with knowledge of design systems.
• Effective collaborator with strong communication skills for sharing design rationale and integrating feedback.
• Comfortable working within an early-stage or startup environment, demonstrating initiative and adaptability.
• Relevant experience in digital product design; experience or interest in transportation, mobility, or similar fields is beneficial.
• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or an equivalent practical background.
