Overview
Compass Group Canada is hiring a Dishwasher to help keep the kitchen running cleanly and safely in Toronto, Ontario. In this role, you will support sanitation and organization across dishwashing and food-service work areas.
What You'll Do
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, pots, pans, trays, and utensils according to set procedures and the equipment provided.
- Use the appropriate tools and methods to polish silver, including a burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, and hand cloth.
- Keep the dish area and kitchen spaces tidy, while making sure equipment remains clean, safe to use, and in line with safety requirements.
- Clean worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food-preparation surfaces.
- Collect waste, place it in the correct containers, and steam-clean or hose out garbage bins when needed.
- Help move, load, unload, and transfer supplies, products, and equipment between storage areas and work areas.
- Take on additional duties as assigned.
About You
- You hold a valid Food Handler Certificate or an equivalent provincial certification.
- You are comfortable working in a busy, fast-moving environment.
- Prior dishwashing experience is an asset, though it is not mandatory.
- Experience using industrial dishwashing machines is preferred.
- You can stay effective under pressure.
- You have the physical ability to perform the duties required by the position.
