About the Opportunity

Ventia is collaborating with the Australian Defence Force to recruit Grounds Persons at RAAF Base Pearce in Bullsbrook, Western Australia. Our longstanding partnership with the Department of Defence ensures the provision of integrated infrastructure and asset management services, supporting military personnel environments nationwide.

Role Overview

As a valued member of the Land Management team, you will carry out daily land and grounds maintenance activities under the guidance of the Grounds Supervisor. Your responsibilities will span a variety of tasks to maintain a safe and efficient environment including planting, landscape rehabilitation, grounds tidying, pest control, and machinery operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Propagate and plant vegetation while performing revegetation efforts across diverse landscapes.
• Remove debris and rubbish; clean outdoor features and hardstand areas; apply line marking; and manage injured or deceased wildlife as required.
• Conduct mulching, pruning, hedging, turf care, pest management, and apply chemicals and fertilizers responsibly.
• Operate and uphold maintenance standards for equipment following operators’ manuals and scheduled servicing.
• Use mowers, tractors, various small machinery, and both powered and non-powered hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Work at different locations based on operational requirements and supervisor directives.

Candidate Profile

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in a similar outdoor or groundskeeping environment.
• Practical knowledge of plant and equipment operation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with manual handling practices and Environmental Management Systems.
• Possession of a Horticulture Certificate or equivalent is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong team-working skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Must be an Australian citizen able to obtain and maintain Defence Security Clearance, including passing an Australian Federal Police check.
