Position Overview

This Housekeeper role is based at a premium Horizon North camp facility in Moosonee, Ontario, with a schedule of two weeks on and two weeks off, working 10-hour days. Transportation to the site is arranged from a designated pickup location. Reporting directly to the Head Housekeeper and Lodge Manager, the Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections and clean over 30 rooms, subject to guest occupancy levels.
• Deliver comprehensive housekeeping services, ensuring guest rooms and hallways are spotless.
• Change and make beds with fresh linens weekly, or as needed.
• Vacuum and dust all furniture, blinds, and hallways thoroughly.
• Clean, sanitize, and polish bathrooms, windows, and mirrors.
• Manage waste disposal including garbage from sleeping quarters and handle recycling properly.
• Wash, fold, and handle towels, bed linens, and bedding materials.
• Load and unload laundry and supply trucks efficiently.
• Accurately track and maintain records of lodge bedding inventory, reporting shortages to management.

Candidate Profile

• Possess at least six months of experience in janitorial or housekeeping roles.
• Familiar with standard cleaning protocols, chemicals, and equipment.
• Experience in remote lodge environments or hotel/institution settings is preferred; commercial cleaning experience is an advantage.
• Strong proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift objects up to 35 pounds.
• Willing and able to achieve a minimum score of 80% on the mandatory WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification.
