Overview
Hitachi Energy seeks an experienced HSE Specialist to join their Services Business team based in Faridabad, Haryana, India. The role requires a proactive professional well-versed in diverse workplace safety environments, capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently within deadlines and communicating effectively across varied cultural groups.
Responsibilities
- Conduct self-assessments of lost time injury rates (LSR) at all workplace and service sites.
- Execute the HSE operating system within the Service Business Unit.
- Provide on-site technical HSE support to the service teams.
- Carry out internal audits, document findings, and ensure prompt issue resolution.
- Spot and contribute to ongoing HSE improvements within the service unit.
- Identify workplace hazards and perform proactive Risk Management and ABRA assessments.
- Ensure compliance with local legal regulations and Hitachi's global safety standards.
- Lead and support management and employees to foster a strong culture of safety.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to evaluate and reduce risks across projects and sites.
- Advise during project planning and offer safety expertise to guarantee safe execution.
- Regularly inspect and audit sites, report detailed findings with action plans at monthly meetings, and drive their completion.
- Promote active HSE practices and increase safety awareness among employees.
- Organize induction and job-specific safety training based on the planned schedule.
- Monitor and maintain systems in accordance with ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in HSE roles, preferably within substation-related businesses.
- Possession of ADIS, PDIS, or equivalent safety certifications with at least one year’s safety course; NEBOSH certification preferred.
- Completion of OSHA training is a valuable addition.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction, EPC, electrical installations, substations, switchyards, and related service activities.
- Expertise in workplace risk assessment methods and safety audit and incident reporting procedures.
- Solid understanding of national legislation, environmental laws, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with fluency in English.
- Ability to influence stakeholder perspectives and enforce safety culture and compliance.
