Overview
Orthopaedic Specialists of North Carolina (OrthoNC) is seeking a diligent and organized Human Resources Assistant to join their HR team in a hybrid role based in Raleigh, NC. This full-time position supports various HR functions to enhance employee experience and organizational performance, blending remote and on-site work.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the HR team to assist with daily operations including benefits management, compliance, and talent initiatives.
- Maintain and update the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and employee benefits platforms.
- Manage employee benefit programs like medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, flexible spending accounts, retirement plans including 401(k), and additional voluntary benefits.
- Address employee inquiries concerning benefits and HR programs while providing superior customer service.
- Coordinate with benefit brokers, insurers, payroll, and leadership to resolve benefit-related concerns.
- Verify accurate reflection of employment and benefit data in payroll processing.
- Conduct frequent audits of benefit enrollments, payroll deductions, invoices, and other records to ensure correctness.
- Support annual benefit renewal processes and manage open enrollment periods.
- Organize and secure confidential personnel files and related HR documents.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive employee information.
- Encourage a cooperative and service-oriented atmosphere within HR and across departments.
- Participate in special projects and perform additional HR-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Highly attentive to detail with strong organizational capabilities.
- Competent in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines within a fast-paced setting.
- Demonstrates accountability, urgency, and professional discretion handling confidential materials.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- A cooperative team member with a customer service mentality and positive attitude.
- Self-driven with the initiative to seek guidance when necessary.
- Experience with HRIS and benefit administration is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in Human Resources and payroll coordination is desirable.
Work Schedule and Benefits
- Standard Monday through Friday schedule, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
