About the Role
As a Human Resources Generalist at SyllogisTeks, you will play a vital role in supporting daily HR functions that contribute to the success of our business and workforce. You will collaborate closely with HR Business Partners, Centers of Excellence, site leaders, and employees, gaining broad exposure across nearly all HR areas while fostering a positive, compliant, and engaging work environment. This position is based in a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly regulated manufacturing setting, involving responsibilities from employee relations to recruiting coordination and leadership support.
Key Responsibilities
- Encourage and maintain a positive workplace culture by ensuring equitable enforcement of company policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Manage intake of employee issues, labor relations, ethics concerns, and workplace complaints, including conducting preliminary investigations and maintaining documentation.
- Compile detailed investigation summaries, findings, and recommendations for HR leadership's review.
- Partner with HR Business Partners and managers to address matters related to attendance, conduct, discipline, performance, and employee relations.
- Provide guidance and coaching to supervisors and employees concerning HR policies, procedures, and workplace matters.
- Ensure HRIS data accuracy by processing employee transactions timely, including hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, status updates, and terminations.
- Perform HR audits to verify data integrity, compliance with regulations, and accuracy of personnel records.
- Generate reports, workforce analytics, and HR metrics to aid operational and business decision-making.
- Maintain employee files and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate employee leave programs in partnership with HR Centers of Excellence to ensure compliant administration and facilitate return-to-work processes.
- Support recruitment activities, pre-employment procedures, onboarding, and orientation to assist Talent Acquisition.
- Assist with employee engagement through HR communications, recognition initiatives, presentations, and events.
- Act as a reliable resource for employee inquiries about HR programs, policies, benefits, and workplace resources.
- Help administer HR policies, employment practices, collective bargaining agreements, and adhere to federal, state, and local laws consistently.
- Work collaboratively with HR leadership to develop, update, and disseminate HR policies and employee handbook content.
- Stay current with employment legislation, labor regulations, and HR best practices.
- Participate in workforce planning, process improvement efforts, and special HR projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Between 2 and 5 years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist, ideally supporting manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or operational environments.
- Proven experience managing employee relations, investigations, HRIS, performance management, onboarding, and HR operations.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and best HR practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical, investigative, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, demonstrate sound judgment, and manage sensitive information professionally.
- Effective organizational and time management capabilities to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Capability to analyze HR data and metrics supporting operational decisions.
Preferred Experience
- Supporting a unionized workforce.
- Experience within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, life sciences, CDMO, or similar regulated industries.
- Possession of professional HR certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR is advantageous.
