Job Overview

Gulf Contracting & Landscaping (GCL) is looking for a proficient Infrastructure Technical Coordinator to join its Engineering department in Abu Dhabi. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing technical document submissions, design records, obtaining authority sanctions, and overseeing engineering activities to guarantee the successful completion of infrastructure projects. Extensive experience in Abu Dhabi’s infrastructure contracting field and a deep knowledge of local authority regulations and approval procedures are essential.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage coordination of all technical submissions, such as shop drawings, material submissions, RFIs, method statements, and engineering paperwork.
• Examine Issued for Construction (IFC) and shop drawings to detect design inconsistencies, technical challenges, and practical construction issues.
• Coordinate between consultants, clients, subcontractors, and internal engineers to ensure timely evaluation and approval of technical documentation.
• Engage with Abu Dhabi authorities to obtain necessary technical endorsements and guarantee adherence to relevant rules and standards.
• Track progress of technical submissions and authority approvals to align with project timelines and milestones.
• Manage design modifications and confirm communication of approved updates to project teams.
• Ensure all engineering documents comply with project specs, contract conditions, and quality requirements.
• Assist project teams in resolving technical queries and organizing engineering solutions.
• Maintain comprehensive records for technical submissions, approvals, and project documents.
• Collaborate closely with project managers and site teams for smooth project implementation and timely completion.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in infrastructure contracting projects in Abu Dhabi.
• Preferably experience with leading infrastructure contractors in the UAE.
• Detailed familiarity with Abu Dhabi authorities’ submission and approval processes, including DMT, ADQCC, ADM, ITC, ADDC, TAQA, e& (Etisalat), du, and related entities.
• Proven skills in coordinating submissions such as technical documents, shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, and method statements, plus securing authority approvals.
• Ability to thoroughly review IFC and shop drawings, identify design conflicts, and manage technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure areas like roads, utilities, stormwater drainage, irrigation, street lighting, and landscaping.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; knowledge of Civil 3D is advantageous.
• Excellent abilities in technical coordination and document management.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Analytical, organized, and solution-driven approach with ability to multitask under tight deadlines.
• Possession of a valid UAE driving license is desirable.
• Familiarity with local authority approval systems and engineering standards in Abu Dhabi.
• Currently residing in the UAE is preferred.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work well within interdisciplinary teams.
