Role Overview
The Junior Systems Analyst position involves supporting the deployment, upkeep, and enhancement of various platforms including applications, data infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, and integration environments. Under senior guidance, you will contribute to operational support, drive continuous improvement efforts, and help ensure the delivery of reliable technical solutions. Collaboration with teams such as Data Analytics, DevOps, Cybersecurity, Architecture, Infrastructure, Operations, and Product Engineering is essential.
Working Conditions
This role requires physical presence at the workplace up to five days weekly, with potential changes based on business needs. Participation in on-call rotations providing 24/7 high-availability support during assigned periods is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose issues, provide temporary workarounds, and develop permanent solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and systems proactively.
- Work cross-functionally to resolve incidents within agreed service levels, maintaining ownership and giving timely updates.
- Manage change coordination with IT support and prepare requisite documentation for implementations.
- Conduct thorough testing, including end-user validation for new or modified application features.
- Apply system changes according to organizational IT service management policies.
- Assist in system and application analysis, configuration, testing, and ongoing support tasks.
- Seek to enhance efficiency through automation, monitoring, and dashboard creation.
- Assess existing system effectiveness and advocate for improvements.
- Engage with end users to comprehend business priorities and offer support accordingly.
- Collaborate within the team and participate in departmental initiatives.
- Demonstrate initiative, curiosity, and eagerness to learn new technologies and processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent mix of education and relevant work experience.
- Experience developing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar automation platforms.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with the capacity to influence stakeholders effectively.
- Comprehensive understanding of IT fields including application development, network and system administration, quality assurance, and data/application management.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services and migration initiatives spanning IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
- Proficiency in workplace applications such as Microsoft Visio, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Ability to prioritize and perform effectively under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for collaboration with vendors, support teams, and business stakeholders.
- Experience in a collaborative, team-driven working environment.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes, service management concepts, and documentation standards.
- Strong abilities in facilitation, presentation, negotiation, and problem resolution.
- Track record of exercising sound judgment handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery methodologies.
- Collaboration with IT Security to ensure adherence to data governance and security policies.
- Operational experience with platforms like IBM MQ, Azure API Management, Confluent Kafka, IBM DataPower, Fortra GoAnywhere, or similar integration technologies is advantageous.
