Role Overview
The Laboratory Analyst role involves conducting laboratory tests safely, accurately, and efficiently, adhering to approved procedures, ISO 17025 standards, and SGS Quality Management Systems. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality analytical services while maintaining strict quality, health and safety, and environmental standards. This is a fixed-term 6-month contract position based in Dublin, requiring 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct analytical laboratory testing using established methods.
- Prepare and analyze customer samples with precision and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 and SGS quality protocols.
- Record and report analytical results accurately and thoroughly.
- Participate in quality control, verification, and validation activities within the lab.
- Support internal and external audit processes for the laboratory.
- Maintain, calibrate, and verify laboratory equipment suitability.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental guidelines, including participating in risk assessments.
- Report incidents and non-conformities; assist with corrective actions.
- Keep precise laboratory records and documentation.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate within the laboratory team.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
- Proven experience working in an analytical laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 17025 or similar quality management standards is preferable.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
- Good communication skills coupled with IT proficiency.
- Must possess a valid work permit or visa authorized for employment in Ireland.
Additional Information
- Compensation in the range of €38,000 to €42,000 annually.
