Learning Design Specialist

About the Role

This position focuses on turning specialist know-how into training that can be repeated, scaled, and measured. You will partner closely with internationally certified coaches to capture their expertise, shape it into structured learning content, and build the learning architecture that supports coaching excellence at Singapore’s largest gymnastics facility.

The ideal candidate enjoys converting expert practice into clear, progressive learning experiences. You should be comfortable designing step-by-step development journeys that help coaches move from entry-level capability to advanced performance.

What You Will Do

• Gather coaching expertise through interviews, observations, and knowledge-mapping sessions.
• Develop instructional strategy, training approach, and programme design for coach development.
• Create staged learning pathways that guide coaches from basic skills to advanced competencies.
• Produce training assets such as manuals, guides, slide decks, videos, and assessment tools.
• Define competency models that describe strong coaching performance at different levels.
• Design onboarding programmes that help new coaches integrate effectively.
• Evaluate training requirements across the coaching team using observations and input from stakeholders.
• Build individual development plans that match competency levels and career growth stages.
• Spot capability gaps and propose targeted learning solutions to address them.
• Keep up to date with coaching practices, adult learning theory, and instructional design methods.
• Work with leadership to ensure training supports academy priorities and standards.
• Maintain central training records, including curriculum guides, lesson plans, and standard operating procedures.
• Create a shared knowledge base that preserves best practices and institutional learning.
• Keep training delivery consistent through well-structured and accessible materials.
• Manage content updates and version control to ensure materials remain current.
• Monitor programme impact through assessments, feedback, and performance indicators.
• Measure learning results and their influence on coaching quality.
• Track attendance, certifications, and development progress in training records.
• Collect feedback from coaches and leaders to refine programmes.
• Use data and insights to continuously improve learning design.

What We’re Looking For

• A diploma or degree in Education, Instructional Design, Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Learning & Development, especially in instructional design.
• Demonstrated ability to capture knowledge from subject matter experts and convert it into structured training.
• Sound understanding of adult learning and the ability to apply cognitive psychology concepts in training design.
• Experience creating competency frameworks and progressive learning pathways.
• Strong facilitation ability for needs analysis discussions and stakeholder interviews.
• Capability to create training materials such as manuals, e-learning content, videos, and assessments.
• Excellent written documentation skills with strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with adult learning principles and training methods.
• Analytical thinking to evaluate learning outcomes and improve programmes using evidence.
• Ability to work independently while handling several projects at once.
