Role Overview
We are searching for a Maintenance Fitter to join our Hamilton Manufacturing team on the afternoon shift (3:30pm - 12:00am), Monday to Friday. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be entrusted with maintaining and repairing machinery, facilities, and infrastructure to uphold high standards of performance, dependability, and safety, supporting production objectives effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute scheduled preventative maintenance as per established timelines.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform necessary repairs.
- Diagnose machine issues and propose enhancements to improve reliability.
- Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document maintenance tasks and activities.
- Contribute to Lean/5S practices and continuous improvement efforts.
- Engage in Practical Problem Solving (PPS) and root cause analyses.
- Raise purchase orders and solicit quotes for mechanical services.
- Collaborate closely with supervisors, production teams, and external vendors.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Candidate Profile
Successful applicants will be trade-qualified fitters who thrive in hands-on maintenance roles within a dynamic manufacturing environment. You should be proactive, systematic in problem-solving, and committed to sustaining reliable equipment operations.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Trade certification at Level 4 in Fitting, Diagnostics, Maintenance, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of three years’ hands-on experience as a qualified tradesperson in manufacturing settings.
- Strong capability in mechanical fault diagnosis.
- Experience with Plastics Injection Moulding machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, or fabrication is advantageous.
- Familiarity with PPS/root cause analysis methods and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Ability to work independently, managing time effectively.
- Competent IT skills; familiarity with Excel and SAP systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication abilities and attention to detail.
