Role overview
This is a full-time remote leadership role in the United States for an experienced manager in network operations. The position is posted on behalf of a partner employer, which will handle applications and all subsequent hiring steps.
You will be responsible for guiding a network operations team that keeps connectivity dependable, service issues resolved quickly, and operational standards consistently high. The role blends people leadership, technical oversight, process improvement, and cross-functional coordination in a fast-moving remote setting.
Success in this position means improving service availability, protecting customer experience, strengthening workflows, and helping the business meet its operational goals.
Key responsibilities
- Lead network operations teams that support optical networking, fault isolation, service restoration, and day-to-day operational readiness.
- Set team priorities, goals, performance measures, and working methods that align with operational needs.
- Improve productivity, efficiency, service quality, and overall customer satisfaction through better operating practices.
- Track KPIs, review trends in performance, and deliver clear reporting to leadership.
- Oversee incident handling, escalations, and difficult troubleshooting work to keep services stable.
- Introduce process enhancements and reinforce consistent compliance with operating procedures.
- Support change management activities and help ensure operational updates are executed successfully.
- Plan workloads, coach team members, support development plans, and manage performance improvement efforts.
- Work closely with engineering, product, and operations partners to raise standards and improve service delivery.
- Contribute to business planning with accurate performance analysis and actionable operational insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent mix of education and professional experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant background in network operations or a similar technical environment.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of network operations, troubleshooting, service management, and operational performance.
- Ability to juggle competing priorities, solve complex problems, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong skills in organization, communication, and relationship management.
- Experience in team development, process improvement, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings and other non-standard hours when needed.
- Customer-first mindset with the ability to manage escalations while maintaining service excellence.
