Managing Director - Incubation

About the Role

We are seeking a Managing Director for Incubation to join a dedicated and intelligent team with a passion for launching the next wave of venture-backed startups. This critical leadership position involves establishing and guiding a world-class venture firm from day one, focusing on identifying major market opportunities, validating promising ideas with potential customers, crafting effective product strategies and go-to-market plans, and creating compelling value propositions for founders and investors alike.

You will play a pivotal role in the expansion of 7th Floor Ventures by forming your own team within the growing fund and fostering an inclusive and diverse community centered on B2B SaaS startups.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team including researchers, industry experts, and community members in discovering transformative venture-scale ideas.
• Develop and enhance validation methods to test market demand and commercial potential of emerging technologies.
• Identify and formulate optimal business models that maximize value creation for new ventures based on research and validation findings.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to recruit exceptional team members aligned with company culture and diversity goals.
• Champion equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout team development, ideation, validation, and business modeling activities.
• Drive mission-oriented projects and ventures reflecting the organization's broad and impactful vision.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years' experience within the startup ecosystem, ideally within venture capital, venture studios, early stage startups, or expanding technology companies.
• Demonstrated expertise in assessing and validating early-stage technology markets and company formation.
• Proficient in market research, idea validation, and designing sustainable technology business models.
• Possesses entrepreneurial spirit coupled with high integrity, diligence, and pride in output quality.
• Established networks in venture capital and technology industries, or keen interest in developing personal brand and professional connections.

Location and Work Arrangement

The role is fully remote, based out of Indiana, United States, with flexible working hours.
