Their expertise covers manufacturing, maintaining, and overhauling wagons, locomotives, passenger cars, rollingstock components, and track maintenance equipment, facilitating customers to operate efficiently while extending the lifespan of their assets.
Role Overview
We are currently seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitter to join our Forrestfield, Western Australia team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Skilfully manufacture products aligned with customer contract requirements.
- Complete assigned tasks within stipulated timelines, maintaining required quality and quantity standards.
- Adhere strictly to company Quality Assurance procedures and workmanship standards for all work performed.
- Take accountability for the quality and output of your work.
- Properly complete all associated documentation and certifications.
- Practice safe work methods, exhibit strong problem-solving abilities, and show initiative.
- Apply proficient machining skills.
- Work independently or collaboratively under strict deadlines.
- Carry out general fitting duties.
- Engage in rail industry specific safety training.
Reporting
This position reports to the Production/Workshop and Safety Supervisor of the Wheel Shop.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Machinist.
- Valid C-Class driver's license.
- Current Forklift High-Risk Work Licence (HRWL).
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in rail industry maintenance of rollingstock or related components.
- Background in heavy engineering manufacturing or mobile plant and equipment.
- Additional High-Risk Licences including Dogging, Rigging, and Overhead Crane.
- Mechanical fitting expertise.
- Possession of MR or HR driver's license.
- Experience with lathes (CNC or Manual) and vertical borers.
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools.
- Availability for rostered shifts including day and afternoon shifts.
