MEP Engineer / Foreman

Overview

We are seeking an experienced MEP Engineer / Foreman to oversee and manage mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within private residential and commercial building projects in Doha, Qatar. This role demands a hands-on professional capable of designing, supervising, installing, and troubleshooting MEP systems while ensuring adherence to local regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects to guarantee timely delivery, budget compliance, and quality assurance.
• Design MEP layouts including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical drawings, ensuring conformity with regulations.
• Interpret technical blueprints and schematics accurately to support precise installation and system maintenance.
• Evaluate project needs and recommend cost-effective equipment and materials for MEP installations.
• Identify system improvements to enhance operational efficiency and optimize material use.
• Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, panels, fixtures, and devices while adhering to safety standards.
• Test and troubleshoot electrical components and resolve faults efficiently.
• Handle plumbing system setup, repairs, and maintenance, including pipes, fixtures, water heaters, and drainage systems.
• Inspect plumbing for leaks, blockages, and pressure issues, implementing necessary fixes.
• Support installation, upkeep, and troubleshooting of mechanical and HVAC systems, performing routine equipment checks.
• Supervise and coordinate teams of MEP technicians and laborers ensuring efficient completion of project tasks.
• Perform hands-on work when independent action is necessary and enforce safety, timeline, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with other trades and subcontractors to ensure seamless execution of MEP-related activities.
• Conduct safety inspections and enforce safety protocols to comply with building codes and project specifications.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and system performance documentation.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated experience as an Engineer, MEP Foreman, and Technician focused on private residential and commercial buildings.
• Diploma or Secondary School Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing Engineering.
• Proficiency in MEP system design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, including blueprint reading and drawing design.
• Capability to propose effective solutions for required materials, equipment, and device selection.
• Strong leadership to perform independent tasks and manage teams effectively.
• Solid knowledge of relevant industry regulations, codes, and safety standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with great attention to detail and the ability to function well under pressure.
• Effective English communication skills, written and spoken, essential for coordination and documentation.
