Overview

The Munitions Shift Supervisor plays a critical leadership role overseeing the operations of the Munitions Department's shift. Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the Munitions Superintendent by managing safety, training, and quality assurance programs, vigilantly enforcing safety and security regulations to consistently meet contractual requirements.
  • Leads shift operations following guidelines set forth in AFMAN 21-200, DAFMAN 21-201, and specific Munitions SOPs.
  • Formulates production schedules and objectives to satisfy daily operational timelines, special assignments, projects, and contingency operations, submitting plans for Superintendent approval.
  • Maximizes the use of TICMS in production processes and ensures all accountability records are completed accurately and submitted punctually.
  • Identifies issues impacting operational goals, advises Superintendent on personnel performance, and proposes corrective actions to improve departmental outcomes.
  • Monitors and assesses production personnel’s proficiency and conducts sample audits of munitions production procedures.
  • Performs end-of-shift security verifications of facilities and diligently manages timely compliance with Time Compliant Technical Orders (TCTOs) and maintenance, pursuing prompt resolution of parts backlog.
  • Maintains training records ensuring personnel receive required instruction and verifies proper operation and maintenance of support equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists.
  • Ensures proper handling of tools, equipment, net explosive limits, and adherence to visual inspections for lightning and static ground systems.
  • Communicates changes in fire symbols, hazard markers, risk categories, or classification affecting munitions storage and maintenance to Munitions Control.
  • Performs entry-controller duties and works required hours including standby shifts to fulfill mission needs during both peacetime and combat scenarios.
  • Operates TICMS in the "Receiver" role and performs additional duties as assigned in office, warehouse, or outdoor environments.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Intermediate understanding of USAF Supply, Transportation Management Office (TMO), Munitions, and Technical Order systems or equivalent service systems.
  • Proficiency with personal computers operating Windows OS and Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • May need to operate material handling equipment; possession of a valid home country driver’s license and the ability to obtain a host nation license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational credential.
  • Minimum seven years of experience with USAF Military Munitions or equivalent service.
  • At least five years of combined supervisory experience in USAF munitions and MMHE operations or equivalent.
  • Capability to attend USAF Munitions Inspector Course and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance (US citizenship required).
  • Physical ability to perform all job duties including lifting/pushing/pulling at least 50 lbs., normal color vision, and depth perception.
  • Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
  • Mandatory use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to safety standards.
