Job Summary
This role is focused on the accurate and timely processing of India payroll using SAP and related payroll tools. The incumbent will handle all payroll data inputs, validations, tax computations, deductions, and generate payroll and remittance files while ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the input and maintenance of payroll data for employees accurately.
- Review payroll outputs for accuracy and resolve discrepancies effectively.
- Validate and upload deduction files, tax calculations, and pay-period adjustments.
- Create electronic bank disbursement and remittance files, balance payments, and generate necessary payroll reports.
- Maintain awareness and compliance with Income Tax rules, labor laws, and prepare monthly/yearly tax and social security filings.
- Operate payroll and attendance systems, such as SAP, Forms+, Service Now, and Aconex for audit documentation and support employee payroll inquiries.
- Collaborate closely with team members to ensure smooth payroll processing and support their tasks as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce from an accredited institution.
- 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience with Indian payroll and compliance.
- Practical exposure to SAP Payroll system and general ledger accounting functions.
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Solid understanding of Indian payroll regulations, tax, and social security laws.
- Fluent in English (intermediate proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking).
- Legal authorization to work in New Delhi, India, without sponsorship.
- Professional qualifications such as CPA or payroll specialization certifications are desirable.
- Experience working within large multinational corporations and handling multi-country payrolls advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Intermediate knowledge of SAP Payroll and Time & Attendance systems.
- Basic to intermediate skills in Oracle General Ledger and other reporting/database tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
