Role Overview

The Plant Controller is an essential member of the plant operations team responsible for delivering financial leadership and analysis. This position supports plant management by providing actionable, data-driven insights to enable informed business decisions and enhance profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting, financial reporting, and controls at the designated site(s).
• Monitor daily financial activities and report progress towards short- and long-term financial objectives.
• Lead improvements and management of the finance function at the assigned location(s).
• Conduct comprehensive analysis of manufacturing variances.
• Maintain detailed account reconciliations and analysis on both consolidated and entity-specific levels to validate account balances.
• Collaborate with management on strategic and tactical planning, including budget creation and execution monitoring.
• Formulate and manage departmental budgets.
• Generate management reports encompassing profit/loss statements, costs, and various financial analytics.
• Create reports from ERP systems using advanced Excel tools, including data visualization via charts and graphs.
• Manage inventory evaluations and audits.
• Perform additional assigned duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year institution.
• Background in the medical device sector is preferred.
• Proven success in finance roles positively impacting enterprise value.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
• Minimum of five years’ practical experience in finance and manufacturing operations.
• Strong analytical skills with a fact-based approach to decision-making and ability to challenge assumptions constructively.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in managing both personnel and projects, with skills in implementing tactical plans.
• History of assisting operational leaders in understanding cost structures, improving profitability, and leveraging growth opportunities.

Communication and Analytical Skills

• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to comprehend and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical documents, and regulatory materials.
• Competence in report writing, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
• Effective presentation skills for engaging managers, clients, customers, and public audiences.

Mathematical and Reasoning Competencies

• Experience in calculating cost of goods sold.
• Knowledge of design, development, and marketing-related pricing.
• Strong problem-solving skills utilizing spreadsheets, calculators, and collaboration with engineering and finance teams.
• Adept at addressing practical problems with limited standards and interpreting various types of instructions.

Work Hours and Travel

This full-time role requires a schedule from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with additional hours as business demands dictate. Occasional travel domestically and internationally may be necessary to support company growth.
