Role Summary
The Procurement Lead for Development & Construction will be embedded within client procurement teams in Saudi Arabia, overseeing the entire procurement lifecycle related to development and construction initiatives to help realize Vision 2030 objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full procurement process from strategy and sourcing through purchase order execution focused on development and construction projects.
- Manage procurement activities including requirements gathering, planning, market engagement, supplier selection, and purchase order processing.
- Lead sourcing efforts across categories such as engineering, technical consulting, construction, turnkey projects, and interior design to identify cost-saving and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure procurement compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements, maintaining a client-centric approach.
- Develop strong collaborative relationships with project managers, finance, legal, engineering, and PMCs to facilitate effective decision making and approval workflows.
- Oversee the requisition and purchase order procedures including resolving budget and system errors promptly.
- Manage supplier onboarding, pre-qualification, and ongoing performance evaluation to maintain a qualified vendor base.
- Conduct internal training on procurement systems and share best practices to enhance team capabilities.
- Analyze spending and supplier data to recommend cost reduction, supplier packaging, and process streamlining initiatives.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by leadership.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 10 years of comprehensive procurement experience.
- Proven expertise managing procurement and commercial functions specific to engineering and construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of the construction and development lifecycle and associated supply markets.
- Strong track record in delivering cost savings through strategic sourcing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing senior leadership.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple sourcing projects simultaneously.
- Data-driven decision-maker with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs), Word, and PowerPoint.
- Practical experience using ERP procurement software such as SAP Ariba or Oracle.
Additional Information
