Job Overview

The Project Director will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of major construction programs, steering strategic direction, governance, execution, and ensuring alignment with stakeholders. This leadership role demands significant technical expertise and proven experience in managing complex projects within Saudi Arabia, specifically under a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) setup.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the comprehensive project strategy, governance frameworks, and execution phases from start to finish.
Supervise planning, design oversight, construction delivery, and project handover activities.
Ensure strict adherence to project goals, contractual agreements, and regulatory standards.
Direct cross-functional teams including consultants and contractors to meet or exceed performance objectives.
Manage finances, schedules, risk, and quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide executive reporting, detailed dashboards, and updates for senior management.
Engage and coordinate with governmental authorities, external stakeholders, and partners.
Address escalated conflicts, risk mitigation, and resolution of interface challenges.
Align project phases with overall development plans and land release strategies.
Lead initiatives focused on value engineering, lifecycle efficiency, and continual improvement.
Maintain robust governance across commercial, procurement, and technical domains.
Perform any additional functions as directed by leadership while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Preferably Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent professional status.
Highly desirable certifications such as PMP, MRICS, or PgMP.
Extensive experience of at least 25 years managing large-scale construction and development projects.
Mandatory prior involvement in delivering major projects within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Strong background working within a Project Management Consultancy environment.
Thorough understanding of project lifecycle stages, from inception and design to commissioning and handover.
Proven leadership with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Analytical thinker with outstanding problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
