Project Procurement Manager

Overview

The Project Procurement Manager in the Mumbai office leads procurement operations for global EPC projects, acting as the primary link between the India-based procurement team and the U.S. Project Procurement Manager. This role demands strong leadership to manage sourcing, bid evaluations, contract negotiations, and supplier monitoring throughout the project's lifecycle, ensuring compliance with company policies, client requirements, and alignment with budget and schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the India procurement team, collaborating closely with the US counterpart to implement procurement strategies.
• Develop procurement planning documents including execution plans, templates, and standards, while participating in project planning and market intelligence activities.
• Manage Request for Proposal (RFP) processes by preparing bid packages, coordinating pre-bid meetings, and aligning bid schedules with project timelines.
• Evaluate commercial bids, conduct supplier negotiations, and prepare purchase recommendations in coordination with technical and legal teams.
• Oversee preparation and approval of purchase orders, tracking supplier acceptance and ensuring on-time delivery by liaising with expediting, logistics, and quality teams.
• Support the resolution of supplier issues, invoice reviews, warranty claims, and procurement close-out activities.
• Engage with internal stakeholders including project management, engineering, and construction teams to support seamless project execution.
• Maintain ethical procurement practices and proactive communication, ensuring alignment with all involved parties and fostering strong supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 15 to 20 years of experience in EPC project procurement, strategic sourcing, global supplier management, RFP handling, commercial bid evaluation, contracting, and procurement planning.
• Proficiency in managing multiple procurement packages with skills in cost control, budget adherence, and supply chain risk management.
• Strong leadership, analytical, critical thinking, negotiation, stakeholder management and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in engaging international suppliers and global teams (preferably aligned with US time zones).

Additional Details

• Full-time position located in Mumbai Metropolitan Region with no travel required.
• This role involves significant independent execution combined with strategic partnership and regional supply chain expertise.
