Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Frontend Developer to join a long-term project aimed at upgrading and migrating a well-established web app from React to Next.js. Your role will center on completing unfinished UI components, correcting layout and responsive design concerns, and improving the overall user interface and user experience. This involves refactoring frontend code for better maintainability and enhanced performance, fixing bugs and inconsistencies, and contributing to new feature development as the project progresses. This position is well suited for a developer interested in sustained, part-time collaboration focused on augmenting an existing product rather than building from the ground up.

Responsibilities

Advance the migration process from React to Next.js with minimal impact on current operation.
Restore missing interface elements and address layout discrepancies.
Ensure the application is fully responsive and performs well across all devices.
Refactor frontend code to improve scalability, maintainability, and speed.
Detect and resolve bugs and technical debt within the frontend components.
Support the rollout of new features and product enhancements.
Analyze and understand the current architecture and codebase for quality deliverables.
Maintain clear and timely communication with stakeholders regarding progress and challenges.

Requirements

Proven hands-on experience with React and Next.js in production settings.
Strong command of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
Capability to refactor and optimize large codebases effectively.
Experience implementing responsive and adaptive design methodologies.
Understanding of UI/UX best practices with a strong attention to detail.
Adept at diagnosing and resolving complex frontend issues.
Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time capacity while communicating effectively.
Willingness to commit to long-term collaboration aligned with project goals.
