Role Overview

At Water Corporation, contribute significantly to Western Australia's water future by joining us as a Scheduling Technical Officer. Based mainly at our Subiaco Waste Water Treatment Plant depot and linked with our Osborne Park Head Office, you will develop and oversee weekly and fortnightly work schedules that optimize resources, align with operational priorities, and ensure maintenance activities are safely and efficiently performed.

Team and Scope

As a member of the Treatment & Resource Recovery (TARR) Planning & Scheduling Team, your focus will primarily be the Waste Water North region while also supporting broader Planning & Scheduling efforts across TARR. You will collaborate with operations and maintenance leadership, planners, and field teams to prioritize and balance work to meet business and performance targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage weekly and fortnightly schedules ensuring safe and efficient delivery of maintenance and operational tasks aligned with business priorities.
  • Prioritize and coordinate preventative, corrective, statutory, and regulatory maintenance based on asset criticality, operational impact, and resource availability.
  • Oversee work orders through their lifecycle to ensure readiness for execution and achievement of corporate KPIs.
  • Work closely with planners, team leaders, and operational staff to balance workloads, optimize resource use, and address scheduling challenges.
  • Analyze work management data, track productivity trends, and review performance metrics to identify enhancement opportunities and aid decision-making.
  • Engage in continuous improvement projects aimed at refining scheduling practices, work management processes, and the accuracy of planning and resource data.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience in scheduling and/or planning of maintenance and operational activities within large, asset-intensive organizations.
  • Strong background in field operations and maintenance environments with a solid grasp of asset reliability and maintenance principles.
  • Competent in SAP or similar work management systems, effectively overseeing, monitoring, and prioritizing work activities.
  • Proficient in data analysis to spot trends and implement operational and business improvements.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing requirements.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills with a proven track record of collaboration across planning, operations, and maintenance teams.
