Role Summary

The Senior HSE Advisor will oversee select projects and supervise crew activities, support incident investigations, lead health, safety, environment, and sustainability (HSES) audits, and provide coaching and training on HSE-related topics. This position requires maintaining key safety documentation such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Hazard Risk Assessment (HRA) documents.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the coordination, creation, and execution of integrated Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, and Sustainability (QHSES) management systems for assigned entities.
• Collaborate proactively with site management to ensure adherence to QHSE standards and effective issue management.
• Organize and conduct audits, prepare and implement action plans approved by management.
• Deliver training sessions and raise awareness on QHSES activities and policies.
• Support implementation of criticality rating systems and monitor procured items for compliance.
• Assist in defining site objectives and key performance indicators, analyze results, propose improvements, and report findings.
• Lead or participate in root cause investigations of quality and HSES issues, recommend and oversee corrective actions.
• Ensure only authorized suppliers and subcontractors are engaged and maintain related documentation.
• Coordinate regular reporting to regional QHSES management teams.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree (Engineering degree preferred for HSES Engineer positions; equivalent qualification acceptable for HSES Analyst).
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in industrial projects or engineering.
• Strong knowledge of QHSE processes relevant to project or site environments.

Technical and Problem-Solving Skills

• Familiarity with local HSE regulations and compliance standards.
• Understanding of core HSE practices and ability to identify deviations.
• Experience or knowledge with key HSE programs including Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO), Management of Change (MOC), incident investigation and reporting, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and risk assessments such as HAZID or HAZOP studies.
• Proficient in using computer hardware and software required to perform HSE tasks effectively.

Interpersonal and Leadership Skills

• Capable of providing and accepting constructive feedback and coaching.
• Experience managing team members and developing their performance plans.
• Effectively communicates and justifies viewpoints to colleagues and supervisors.
• Skilled in preparing and delivering presentations and detailed reports.
• Ability to use HSE reporting systems to upload data and extract analytics.
• Collaborative team player who can work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• This position includes approximately 20% office-based work using typical office equipment.
• The majority of work (around 80%) occurs in shop manufacturing and service facilities, involving exposure to varying environmental conditions such as noise, weather, machinery, hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Tasks require regular walking, bending, climbing, stooping, moderate lifting, and handling containerized chemicals and wastes.
• Work conditions may involve exposure to dirt, grease, dust, and temperature extremes.
