About the Role

AnaVation LLC is seeking a Software Developer to contribute to the creation of secure, mission-critical software applications used in federal law enforcement operations. These applications include systems for case tracking, evidence processing, and investigative support. Working closely with senior developers and domain experts, you will develop reliable software that meets federal security standards and supports national security missions.

Responsibilities

Develop and enhance application features under supervision of experienced developers.
Participate in requirements gathering, software design, testing, and maintenance activities.
Utilize modern programming tools, version control systems, and adhere to secure coding standards.
Assist with debugging, documentation, and agile sprint processes.
Work within government-compliant DevSecOps pipelines and development workflows.
Troubleshoot software-related issues and support system integration tasks.

Required Qualifications

Experience in software development under general supervision using common practices.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Understanding of software engineering principles, secure coding techniques, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows.
Familiarity with applications handling sensitive data or investigative processes preferred.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Eligibility to obtain a Secret security clearance; must pass Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry on Duty (EOD) suitability and successfully acquire Secret clearance thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

Possession of Security+ certification or equivalent baseline credential.
Professional certifications in AWS or Microsoft Azure cloud platforms.
Certifications in Agile methodologies or Scrum framework.
Experience working with containers, microservices architectures, or distributed systems.
Ability to thrive in rapid, agile development environments.
Active DHS EOD suitability and current DHS Secret or higher clearance is advantageous.

Work Location and Conditions

This position is predominantly remote but requires occasional visits to client or corporate offices in Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia. Candidates residing outside commuting distance must explain how they will accommodate onsite presence as required. Remote work status may be subject to change per client directions.
