Role Overview
We are looking for a highly capable Staff Data Analyst to join our team. This role involves collaborating closely with various organizational teams to convert intricate data into practical insights that drive strategic decisions. You will help leadership understand business performance, uncover improvement areas, and evaluate the effects of initiatives. Unlike traditional reporting, your focus will be on interpreting the reasons behind data patterns to support informed business choices. You will create and evaluate experiments, develop dashboards, and build reporting frameworks that illuminate operational and customer metrics, directly influencing business strategies and effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Experience as a Data Analyst or equivalent, ideally within insurance or financial services
- Strong SQL skills for querying and managing data
- Proficient with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
- Familiarity with Python or R programming languages is advantageous
- Knowledge of cloud data platforms like AWS, Snowflake, or Databricks preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities for interpreting complex datasets
- Effective communication skills for conveying technical insights to non-technical individuals
- Capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
- Experience in designing experiments, evaluating performance, and conducting root cause analysis
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business questions into analytical approaches
- Design and perform data analyses, experiments, and pilot studies to assess business efforts and reveal impactful opportunities
- Create and upkeep dashboards and reports that provide live insights into operational and customer metrics
- Investigate diverse data sources to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Use segmentation, cohort, and behavioral analyses to understand customer and operational dynamics
- Work with stakeholders to assess trade-offs, answer critical questions, and offer actionable advice
- Spot gaps in data collection and enhance data instrumentation and reporting processes
- Develop key metrics and frameworks for success measurement and progress monitoring
- Analyze root causes of business issues and propose data-driven solutions
- Effectively present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences to guide decisions
