Stores Person

About the Role

We are looking to add a Stores Person to our team at QinetiQ Target Systems, located in Ashford, Kent. The role involves contributing to the smooth functioning of our stores operations by supporting incoming goods processing, component kitting, stock management, and dispatch tasks. This position reports directly to the Stores Lead.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and record inbound goods accurately within the ERP system.
• Prepare and kit components and assemblies as needed for production schedules.
• Carefully pack products with proper documentation for dispatch.
• Assist with stock control activities, such as inventory checks and maintaining stock accuracy.
• Operate forklift trucks when required, maintaining safety standards.
• Maintain precise system records ensuring data integrity.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement programs to optimize operations.
• Uphold excellent housekeeping, health, and safety practices in the workplace.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience working within stores or warehouse settings, preferably in manufacturing environments.
• Strong organizational abilities with attention to accuracy and safety.
• Good written and verbal communication skills combined with a collaborative mindset.
• GCSE or equivalent qualifications in Mathematics and English.
• Understanding of health and safety protocols, including manual handling and hazardous materials.
• Competence with computer applications, notably Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Effective organization skills and detail orientation.
• Forklift truck operating experience; a valid Forklift Truck licence is advantageous.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with ERP or stock management systems including barcoding technology.
• Experience with vertical storage systems.
• Previous involvement in Continuous Improvement environments.
