Role Overview

The Suite Host plays a crucial role in ensuring our Guests experience exceptional care and attention throughout their journey, specifically within the privacy of their suites. These suites serve as the guests' private homes during the cruise, and the Suite Host must provide top-tier personalized service that enhances the overall voyage.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and prepare guest suites according to company standards for embarkation and daily upkeep.
• Sanitize all surfaces properly in line with public health regulations, preventing cross-contamination when handling food, water, and ice.
• Strictly follow food safety protocols and maintain food quality for all related processes.
• Offer professional, courteous, and friendly service, addressing guests by name after their second night onboard, utilizing guest history to personalize service effectively.
• Conduct the Meet and Greet with guests to familiarize them with suite safety features, facilities, emergency protocols, and controls.
• Attend promptly to any special guest requests to ensure satisfaction.
• Adhere to punctuality, company uniform standards, and readiness with proper equipment and supplies at all times on duty.
• Report and follow up on maintenance issues within the assigned working area.
• Change linen and towels according to company policy: full linen change every three days or more often as required, daily pillowcase changes unless otherwise requested.
• Manage towel replacement twice daily or as per guests’ environmental preferences.
• Carry out daily suite cleaning and turndown service alongside scheduled extra duties.
• Maintain accurate control and safeguarding of all inventory and supplies.
• Clear room service trays and ensure suites are free of any leftover items after cleaning.
• Manage laundry collection and delivery following company procedures, verifying laundry slips carefully.
• Water and care for flowers and plants in suites, coordinating with the florist for additional maintenance.
• Distribute any guest-related literature or information as required.
• Conduct pre-embarkation self-inspections of suites and bathrooms to ensure compliance with standards.
• Perform sanitation of shower heads, jacuzzis, and related equipment as directed by public health guidelines, recording completions accordingly.
• Prepare unoccupied suites fully for embarkation or guest use at any time.
• Keep assigned corridors and hallways clean and orderly.
• Ensure pantry or personal locker cleanliness, adequate stocking, and safe storage.
• Sort waste accurately by category and manage its transport to recycling centers when necessary.
• Operate vacuum cleaners only outside guest presence hours, before 9:00 am or after 9:30 pm.
• Maintain confidentiality by not disclosing suite statuses to guests or other staff.
• Assist with baggage transport at cruise conclusion when requested, ensuring safe handling.
• Perform evening and extended watch shifts as per schedule.
• Complete any additional cleaning or related tasks assigned by supervisory staff.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 24 months proven experience as a Cabin Steward on international vessels or minimum two years as a Room Attendant in a 4 or 5-star international hotel.
• High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
• Basic food safety knowledge and relevant certifications in specialized housekeeping practices.
• Understanding and commitment to company sanitation and food safety standards.
• Ability to work efficiently and swiftly in cooperation with others.
• Physical capability for climbing, bending, repetitive motion, and occasional heavy lifting; must maintain good physical fitness.
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional European languages such as Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, or French are advantageous.

Essential Documents and Certifications

• Valid passport, visas, and relevant certificates as required for travel and port entries.
• Food Safety, HACCP, or USPH certification.
