Utility Worker

Overview

This role is based at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, where Utility Workers support kitchen and facility operations. Flexible shifts with varying days and hours are expected, with open availability preferred. Both full-time and part-time positions are available. The pay rate ranges from $12.50 to $15.00 per hour. Students, notably international or those with hourly restrictions, should seek student worker roles separately.

Key Duties

• Hand washing dishes or operating dishwashing machines.
• Cleaning and sanitizing worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and general floor maintenance.
• Removing trash and disposing of garbage appropriately.
• Using specified cleaning agents to sanitize equipment effectively.
• Restocking essential supplies like soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials.
• Walking frequently or moving by other means throughout shifts that may extend beyond 8 hours.
• Physical tasks including reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 35 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Attending scheduled shifts timely and maintaining consistent work presence.
• Other responsibilities may vary depending on client needs and account specifics.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• No prior experience is required.
• Basic understanding of sanitation practices and food safety principles.
