Role Overview

As a working student backend engineer, you will partner with seasoned engineers within one of Limehome's product teams to contribute meaningfully to production systems. Your tasks will include developing real product features, engaging in code reviews, and enhancing internal tools and services. This position offers hands-on experience in software development and opportunities to learn directly from senior team members.

Candidate Profile

• You must be enrolled in a Master's program in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Availability to work 15 to 20 hours weekly during academic semesters.
• Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript through university, professional, or open-source involvement.
• Collaborative experience in software projects within team settings.
• Strong foundational backend programming knowledge such as data structures, debugging, Git, and understanding of testing methods.
• Interest in AI-assisted development workflows and integrating AI functionalities into products, with familiarity with tools like Cursor being a plus.

Product & Engineering Department

The department consists of a diverse team of around 30 engineers working both on-site in Munich and remotely where applicable. Teams operate autonomously, focusing on guest experience ownership and continuous improvement. The technology stack primarily includes TypeScript and frameworks like NestJS, deployed on AWS with serverless infrastructure. Development practices encompass code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines to deliver frequent enhancements.
